Accreditation and CLE Rules for Alabama
The National Academy of Continuing Legal Education is an Alabama State Bar Accredited CLE Sponsor (CLE Sponsor #5893). All courses offered by the National Academy of Continuing Legal Education have been directly approved by the Alabama State Bar.
Alabama attorneys must complete 12 CLE credit hours per year by December 31, including at least 1 credit in Ethics. A maximum of 6 hours can be taken using on-demand formats and at least 6 of the hours must be taken in a live format.
Alabama attorneys can earn all 12 CLE credit hours including 1 Ethics with us using our Online, iOS/Android App, and Live Webinar courses.
Alabama Attorneys can carry-over a maximum of 12.0 CLE credits including 1.0 ethics credit into the next reporting period. Up to 6 hours of On-Demand credits may be carried over.

About This Course
This is a two part lecture discussing the professional responsibilities of an attorney prior to representation.
The first part of the lecture will discuss solicitation and barratry including ambulance chasing, rules of professional conduct, consequences, and enforcement.
The second part will be a discussion on the importance of engagement letters, what they need to contain, and how they can be used to reduce the risk of malpractice claims.
