Sherri Jefferson, Esq.
Sherri Jefferson is the founder and managing attorney of the Family Law Center located in Georgia. The Family Law Center specializes in business, domestic relations, criminal and civil law. The theme of the FLC is “Rebuilding Families One Client at a Time.” In this capacity, the FLC provides legal services that meet the overall needs of families. Miss Jefferson has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in complex litigation. Her cases have involved a broad array of issues that pertain to family law. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Court of Appeals. She is also admitted to the United States District Court in the Northern and Middle Division, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
Sherri is very active in addressing the needs and concerns of all people. She also has a pro bono project through the African American Juvenile Justice Project (AAJJP), which focus includes community accountability and responsibility, youth leadership, and legislative initiatives for juvenile justice and reform. She is the founder of the LawMobile, which delivers access to legal programs to underserved communities. Attorney Jefferson is a teen court judge and she serves under the leadership of Honorable Belinda Edwards, Chief Juvenile Court Judge of Fulton County and Honorable Chief Judge Boyd. Jefferson is a trained Court Appointed Special Advocate and she has presented at the National Conference for CASA.
Prior to establishing the Family Law Center, Sherri Jefferson was a Juvenile Division Chief and served as a public defender for the Georgia Public Defenders Standards Council in South Georgia. In her capacity as a public defender and juvenile division chief, she handled over 623 cases that included preliminary hearings, motion practice, drug court, adult superior court cases as well as juveniles tried as adults. Prior to working with GPDSC, Sherri Jefferson maintained a private law practice.
Miss Jefferson taught Criminal Justice at the College of New Rochelle in New York and she taught at the City University of New York in Queensborough. Sherri Jefferson started Pro AM, which provided services to professional athletes as a professional management and marketing company. She is the author of several published works and research as well as the host and producer of her own radio shows, which included 1280 WIBB “Wake Up” through Clear Channel radio and an online radio program, “Live with Sherri” on Blogtalkradio.
In addition to her Doctorate, Sherri holds degrees in Human Resources Services and Human Resources Administration with a concentration in Business as well as a Master degree in Post- Secondary Education. Miss Jefferson also has post-graduate studies in Early Childhood Education.
