Tina B. Solis, Esq,
Tina Solis advises businesses on issues involving trade secrets, unfair competition and complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts. She also counsels lawyers and law firms on professional responsibility issues. Tina regularly represents regulators in federal court litigation related to the failure of banks.
Tina is also leader of the firm’s Financial Institutions & Banking Disputes team, which represents institutions and individuals in a full range of civil litigation, enforcement matters, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitrations, and compliance investigations on issues such as consumer protection, fair lending, anti-money laundering, and violations of fiduciary duties.
Tina has extensive experience across a wide array of complex and high profile business disputes such as contract actions, shareholder remedies, commercial fraud, unfair competition and mass torts. In addition, she brings to cases deep knowledge about e-discovery processes and issues.
She represents companies in the financial services markets in unfair competition matters, with a particular focus on misappropriation of trade secrets. I have litigated these disputes in state and federal courts throughout the country. She also counsels and defends employers on a wide range of other employment issues. During the course of her career, she has handled numerous cases in which emergency injunctive relief was requested.
Tina counsels lawyers and law firms in connection with fiduciary obligations, departure issues, partnership disputes and malpractice claims. She also regularly handle these matters through the use of alternative dispute resolution, since confidentially is of the utmost importance in these cases.
She routinely assists companies in the financial services market with professional liability, investigations and related litigation. In particular, She assists federal regulators as receivers of failed institutions in analyzing the roles that former bank officers, directors and their outside advisors may have played in bank failures. This involves conducting investigations, determining whether meritorious claims exist and assisting in all phases of litigation until those claims are resolved.
Christina E. Kurow, Esq.
Christina Kurow is a commercial litigator who represents clients in state and federal courts and in arbitrations nationwide. Christina co-leads the firm’s Chicago Women’s Resource Group and serves on the firm’s Associates’ Council.
A large part of her practice includes litigating cases involving trade secret misappropriation, restrictive covenants, breaches of contract, fiduciary duty claims, and corporate raiding.
Recently, she represented a startup pharmaceutical company in an expedited arbitration relating to a series of incorrectly calculated earnout payments. The arbitrator awarded the client over $3 million in reimbursement, plus pre- and post-judgment interest, as well as nearly all of our clients’ attorneys’ fees and costs as the prevailing party.
She has also defended companies in a variety of labor and employment cases filed in state and federal courts, the Illinois Human Rights Commission (IHRC), and the Illinois Department of Human Rights (IDHR).
Specifically, she has experience defending lawsuits involving claims of age, sex, gender, and disability discrimination; constructive and wrongful discharge; wage-and-hour; and claims regarding the Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Another part of her practice involves counseling lawyers and law firms regarding fiduciary and ethical obligations, departure related issues, and partnership disputes.
She has also represented institutions and individuals in various guardianship related matters and have successfully obtained temporary and plenary guardianship appointments in over a dozen matters.
