Richard E. Flamm, Esq.
Richard E. Flamm has had a nationwide consulting practice for the past 10 years in which he deals mainly with conflict of interest issues and legal malpractice actions, as well as disqualification motions and appeals. Mr. Flamm is the author of the nationally acclaimed treatise Lawyer Disqualification: Conflicts of Interest and Other Bases, as well as Judicial Disqualification: Recusal and Disqualification of Judges. Judicial Disqualification has been authoritatively relied on by federal courts throughout the country and by the highest courts of a number of states. Mr. Flamm has also written many law review articles on conflicts, disqualification and related subjects. The former chair and vice chair of both San Francisco’s and Alameda County’s Ethics Committees, he has taught professional responsibility at the University of California, Berkeley, and at Golden Gate University. Mr. Flamm has also presented dozens of public seminars on ethical issues, as well as numerous in-house lectures to some of the nation’s largest corporations and firms.
Stacie McLean
Stacie McLean is the director of paralegals at O’Melveny & Myers LLP and oversees the firm’s paralegal program, including the ongoing development of training and mentoring programs for paralegals. Ms. McLean has extensive experience as a litigation paralegal, in both large firm and in-house environments. She is active in the International Paralegal Management Association and is currently the chairperson of the IPMA’s Resources Committee. Noah S. Rosenthal, Esq.
Noah S. Rosenthal is an attorney and a member of Howard Rice Nemerovski Canady Falk & Rabkin’s Litigation Department, where he focuses his practice on professional responsibility law, including conflicts and disqualification, advice and representation in disciplinary matters, and legal malpractice. Prior to joining Howard Rice, Mr. Rosenthal was a law clerk for Chief Justice Shirley S. Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law. Mr. Rosenthal is a member of the State Bar of California.
Kerry Spence Suendermann
Kerry Spence Suendermann currently operates People’s LDA and The Paralegal Offices of Kerry Spence Suendermann, providing services to the public and to attorneys. Ms. Suendermann is the daughter of one of America’s most well-known trial lawyers, Gerry Spence, and has been in practice for 30 years. She is a California certified paralegal and a registered legal document assistant. In 1977 she received from the University of San Diego one of the first American Bar Association approved paralegal certificates issued in the state of California. Ms. Suendermann has worked for some of Northern California’s most respected trial attorneys, focusing on litigation and document management. She has been recognized as a pioneer and leader in the paralegal profession. Ms. Suendermann is written about in the book from Estrin Publishing Where Do I Go From Here, Career Choices for the Experienced Legal Assistant in the chapter titled “Paralegal Role Models.” She is an assistant professor at the Sonoma State Paralegal Program, where she teaches “How to Operate a Successful Paralegal/LDA Business.” Ms. Suendermann is founder of FreeLance and Public Paralegals of California, an organization for self-employed paralegals, and Legal Access for All. She lectures statewide on paralegal and LDA issues and concerns.
