A. Anthony Ashenhurst
A. Anthony Ashenhurst, of counsel to Westervelt, Johnson, Nicoll & Keller, LLC, in Peoria, concentrates his practice in health care and labor and employment law issues. Mr. Ashenhurst has 25 years of experience in representing private and public hospitals and other health care providers in all aspects of health care law, including governmental compliance issues relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, the Anti-Kickback Statute and the Stark law. Mr. Ashenhurst received his undergraduate degree from Western Illinois University and his law degree from Drake University.
Stephanie House
Stephanie House is a partner at CCH Medical Consultants, a consulting and management facility. Ms. House holds a bachelor’s degree in health care management information from Southern Illinois University. She is a member of the American Board of Healthcare Executives. Among some of her other talents and responsibilities, she is also employed by SVI Healthcare as a training manager for several out-of-state hospital systems. Ms. House has been involved in educational training for seven years. Her responsibilities at SVI Healthcare include instructing physicians, clinicians and clerical staff in medical software. Ms. House’s educational background gives her extensive knowledge of medical record documentation and governmental regulations.
Mark A. Novak, J.D.
Mark A. Novak, J.D., is corporate compliance officer/in-house counsel with Methodist Medical Center of Illinois. Mr. Novak oversees and monitors the implementation of the Compliance Program Plan, which includes written conduct guidelines, policies and procedures. He also institutes the annual review, updating, coordinating and formulating of corporate compliance policies and procedures as needed to reflect changes in operations and to ensure consistency and compliance with changing federal and state laws among Methodist’s various divisions and service areas. Mr. Novak is a member of the Health Lawyers Association and the Health Care Compliance Association. He earned an A.A. degree in political science from Illinois Valley Community College, a B.S. degree in political studies from Sangamon State University and a J.D. degree from The John Marshall Law School.
