Jared M. Reynolds, Esq.
Jared M. Reynolds is an Associate Attorney at Levin & Perconti, where he concentrates his work in prosecuting cases of nursing home negligence, medical malpractice, and wrongful death/catastrophic injuries. Recently Mr. Reynolds’ firm earned the largest jury verdict in the State of Illinois ($4.1 million) for a case under the Nursing Home Care Act, related to a failure by nursing staff to administer Coumadin to a woman who then suffered from a stroke, and later passed away due to complications of that stroke.
In less than three years at Levin & Perconti, Jared has obtained over $5.5 million in settlements on behalf of individuals who have suffered catastrophic injuries, and families who have suffered from the loss of a loved one, all due to the negligence of medical and nursing care providers, as well as other individuals. Jared handles all aspects of the life of a case, from the investigatory stage all the way up to trial, having presented and completed over 130 depositions of varying witnesses.
Aside from his work, Jared is also active in several LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender,) organizations both in and out of the legal community. He is the Chair of the Mentorship Committee for the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago (LAGBAC), where he has created opportunities for LGBT law students across Chicago to receive mentoring guidance from LGBT attorneys throughout the city, and give both the Mentors and Mentees chances to network with Judges, potential employers, and their peers. Under Jared’s leadership, the Mentorship Program has grown to its largest size, with over 120 members, and its most diverse membership within the LGBT population.
Throughout Jared’s career, he has focused on fighting for some of the most vulnerable subsets of the population. Consistent with that trend, he has focused much of his recent advocacy in the LGBT community to attempt to address many of the concerns that one of the most defenseless groups, the elderly, face within the LGBT community. Accordingly, he routinely volunteers to help draft simple legal documents (such as Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Advanced Directives, etc.) for LGBT elders in a hope to provide them with not only the legal authority to have their wishes carried out for them, but also to provide them with a piece of mind that their loved ones will be taken care of and vice versa.
Jared graduated from the Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2015 where he was a Moot Court Honor Society member and a partner on the National Veterans Law Society Moot Court Champion Team.
