About This Course
Did you know that the earliest successful Artificial Intelligence program dates back to 1951? Since then, AI programs have made noticeable, but usually small, advances in legal research. That is, until the large language model (LLM), ChatGPT, was released in November 2022. Companies are releasing products at a record pace using ChatGPT as the underpinning structure. Both Westlaw and Lexis incorporated AI-assisted research features in their newest release.
This CLE program will explain how LLMs work and how that leads to “hallucinations.” We will build upon that knowledge and learn how to construct search queries that maximize the efficiency of AI and minimize the risk of inaccurate or irrelevant results. Along the way, we will identify the ethical implications of using this technology.
