This CLE course will focus on cyber threats to the legal community, why hackers find lawyers to be productive targets, the costs of data breaches, and a lawyers cybersecurity obligations, including in the context of ESI.

This course will include discussions on general ethical responsibilities of lawyers in the securing of data within their care, both of their clients and of sensitive information produced by opposing parties and non-parties. The course will also include discussions on the threat landscape, what to look out for, how to be prepared, and potential obligations of a law firm hit with a data security incident.
