David Thayne Leibell is Senior Wealth Strategist at UBS, a global firm with 150-year heritage. David has given several hundred lectures and webinars to lawyer and nonlawyer audiences throughout the United States and has authored over one hundred articles on charitable, estate and tax planning. He also has been quoted in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Business Week, Investment News, and Bloomberg Wealth Manager and has appeared on CNBC's "Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo."

Professional History Brian works with ultra-high net worth clients to help coordinate their tax planning with a particular focus on cross-border strategies and income tax planning. He has extensive expertise and experience with developing tax efficient strategies for U.S. and non-U.S. based investing, pre-immigration tax planning, and structuring family offices.
Prior to joining UBS, Brian was Counsel at the international law firm Winston & Strawn. Brian also previously served as a trial attorney for the Office of Chief Counsel to the Internal Revenue Service where he litigated and advised the IRS regarding issues of domestic and international estate planning and income tax issues.
Education Brian received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Hofstra University in 2004. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Hofstra University in 2008, where he was a member of the National Moot Court Team and the Tax Law Society. Brian received his L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 2009.
