Hon. Matthew F. Cooper
Justice Matthew F. Cooper is a graduate of Hobart College in Geneva, New York, where he received his B.A., cum laude, in 1974. Following two years as a VISTA volunteer with Bronx Legal Services, he attended Antioch School of Law in Washington, D.C., where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1979. He then went on to practice in New York City for over 20 years, with his legal career focused on representing working people in union pre-paid legal services programs. In 2000, Justice Cooper was elected to the New York City Civil Court. In 2010 he was elected to the New York State Supreme Court. As a Supreme Court Justice, his court room is in Manhattan, where he presides over divorce proceedings. Justice Cooper is a member of the New York County Lawyers Association, the New York City Bar Association (Matrimonial Committee) and the New York State Bar Association (Family and Matrimonial Law Section).
Dror Bikel, Esq.
Dror Bikel is a trial lawyer and litigator specializing in the area of family law and questions related to custody, equitable distribution, child and spousal support, and paternity. Mr. Bikel graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and is a founding partner of the Manhattan based firm, Bikel & Schanfield, LLP. He lectures to lawyers and mental health professionals in the area of trial practice and family law. As winner of the New York Super Lawyers award, Mr. Bikel has been voted by his peers and legal journalists as one of the top 5% family law attorneys in New York State.
Mr. Bikel firmly believes that disputes in this area of law should be resolved in a dignified and humane manner. His almost 20 years of courtroom experience provide invaluable insight to help facilitate settlements, mediate disputes, and draft agreements. When matters do not settle, Mr. Bikel’s trial and litigation skill and experience provide superior results for his clients.
Alan Feigenbaum, Esq.
Alan Feigenbaum is a partner at Alter, Wolff & Foley LLP. In this role, Alan specializes in marital dissolution matters before New York trial and appellate courts, working with individuals to prosecute, defend and negotiate all facets of disputes related to issues of equitable distribution, custody, parenting time, and child and spousal support. He also represents individuals in the negotiation and drafting of prenuptial and marital agreements, including separation agreements. Alan was named a 2014 Rising Star by New York Super Lawyers. He has also been recognized by Best Lawyers (2020).
Alan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, New York Chapter and co-chair of the Committee on Legislation for the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He has also lectured on various family law topics in connection with the New York State Bar Association.
Prior to joining Alter, Wolff & Foley LLP, for approximately eight years, Alan was an associate attorney at Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP, where his practice was also exclusively focused on family law matters. Prior to joining Kasowitz Benson Torres & Friedman LLP, for approximately five years, Alan was an associate attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where he practiced patent and general commercial litigation in federal courts.
Alan graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.
Alan’s family law practice is grounded in civil discourse, maximizing efficiency, and responsiveness to clients.
Alan and his wife, Talia, live in Maplewood, New Jersey with their two children, Jack and Nola.
Lois Liberman, Esq.
Lois Liberman has extensive experience advising clients in all aspects of matrimonial and family law. She is a seasoned litigator and trial attorney, and has been a frequent guest on television having appeared multiple times on “The Today Show,” “Good Morning America,” “Good Day New York,” “Extra,” and “Entertainment Tonight.” She is frequently consulted to comment on family law matters pertaining to famous people and appears often in the celebrity press including but not limited to publications like People magazine, The Huffington Post, eonlinenews.com, MTV.com, Businessinsider.com, NBCNews.com, FoxNews.com, The NY Post and More magazine.

Lois represented a litigant in the first reported same-sex divorce case in New York State, C.C. vs. M.C., 21 Misc. 3d 926, 867 N.Y.S.2d 884, 2008 N.Y.Misc. LEXIS 6011, 2008 NY Slip Op 28398, 401 N.Y.L.J. 81 (2008).
Lois is an active member of the New York County Women’s Bar Association and has served as co-chair of the Judiciary Committee and Matrimonial & Family Law Committee. She is also an appointed member of the Interdisciplinary Forum on Mental Health and Family Law, a group of lawyers, judges, and mental health professionals who meet monthly to discuss issues of mental health and family law. Lois has lectured for the Association of Divorce Financial Planners and various New York Bar Associations in the areas of prenuptial and separation agreements, as well as custody matters.
She co-chaired the Firm’s Summer Associate Program and has also served on the Partner Nominating Committee, Women’s Steering Committee, Diversity Committee, and Technology Committee. Lois is a member of the Women’s Forum whose mission is to enhance the professional and business development of the firm’s female attorneys and professionals and foster the success of our strong community of women.
Lois has been recognized as a “Super Lawyer" in Family Law by New York Super Lawyers—Metro Edition from 2010-2017. She has for many years received the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
