This course will consist of a short, general description of bankruptcy law history and a description of the different types (Chapters) available and their basic respective functions and differences. There will be a discussion of the last significant Bankruptcy Code amendments effective in 2005. The course materials will include the set of current bankruptcy Schedules and Chapter 13 form plan and explain how to complete these.

Finally, the course will include a brief description of bankruptcy filings statistics and secondary sources for bankruptcy legal research.
