Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and related government shutdowns, our landlord-tenant courts will be stretched beyond their limits once they are re-opened and eviction moratoria have fully expired. This CLE provides landlords and tenants with strategies to circumvent court backlogs and discusses how trial courts have addressed impossibility of contract and other relevant Covid-19 defenses.

The CLE also provides an update on the commercial eviction moratorium and previews relevant legislation pending in Albany. The goal is to inform landlords and tenants of their rights, encourage productive settlement talks, and ultimately minimize business disruptions.
