About This Course
Police misconduct is an increasingly hot-button issue. Whether criminal or not, the public has always had zero tolerance for misconduct among those whose job it is to uphold the law and thereby should be setting an example for others. This CLE course will explain how police misconduct is determined, the types of misconduct and the agencies, including the CCRB and the IAB, charged with investigating misconduct in the police force. The course will delve deeper into the areas in which police misconduct tends to surface including Stop and Frisk, Use of Force and others.
This topical CLE program, given by criminal defense attorney Benjamin Brafman, will provide an overview of some of the most challenging issues in the topic of police misconduct. Mr. Brafman discusses many of the recent instances of alleged police misconduct that have garnered national media attention and provides an in-depth analysis of the legal issues present.
