Aba Heiman, Esq.
Aba Heiman, Esq. has been litigating on behalf of disabled workers since 1988. He handles claims and litigation involving Social Security Disability (SSD) and long term disability (LTD) benefits. That includes individual and group disability insurance policies and union disability pension plans. Before coming to Fusco, Brandenstein & Rada, P.C. in 1988, Mr. Heiman was a claims representative for the Social Security Administration from 1974-1987.
Mr. Heiman is a member of local and national bar associations, has published articles related to disability benefits, and has been a featured speaker at continuing legal education (CLE) programs about disability benefits. He has also been a guest speaker at organizations that advocate for those suffering from various illnesses. He also served for three years on the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Coordinating Committee with the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. He has testified as an expert witness on SSD and LTD benefits in New York State Supreme Court. He also advocated for legislation to help disabled workers under ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act), which was proposed by U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy.
Mr. Heiman obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Lehman College of the City University of New York in 1971, a Masters Degree from Hofstra University in 1974, and a Law Degree from Touro College, Fuchsberg Law Center in 1988. He graduated law school Cum Laude and was on the Touro Law Review.
