John Leschak, Esq.
John Leschak is an attorney who specializes in immigration law. He has practiced in immigration law since 2010. He has successfully handled thousands of cases, including for asylum, adjustment of status, bond hearings for detained persons, cancellation of removal, consular processing, DACA, deportation defense, family-based immigration, fiance visas (K visas), Motions to Reopen and Reconsider, Parole in Place for family of US military and US veterans, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, stays of removal, student visas (F visas), U visas, visa extensions, waivers of unlawful presence, waivers for criminal convictions, withholding of removal, and more.
Mr. Leschak handles immigration cases and proceedings before DHS, USCIS, the Immigration Court in all parts of the USA, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). He also handles appellate work before the Third Circuit Court of Federal Appeals. He is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bars, as well as bar of the New Jersey Federal District Court, the New York Federal District Court for the Southern District, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
For many years he also served on the board of directors of Casa Freehold, the Latino Coalition of Monmouth County, as well as the Latino Action Network. Mr. Leschak is a member of the State Bar Association of New Jersey, New York State Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, New Jersey Advocates for immigrant detainees and Monmouth County Coalition for Immigrant Rights. He is also the supervising attorney for the non-profit immigration clinic run by the Episcopal Church in Trenton, NJ, and lead volunteer immigration attorney for the Trenton, NJ State Psychiatric Hospital, where he provides pro bono immigration representation to institutionalized non-citizen patients. He is an alumnus of The College of New Jersey where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Justice Studies. Mr. Leschak obtained his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School of Law in Long Island, NY, where he was a member of the Asylum Clinic.
Mr. Leschak is married and he and his wife, Yuri Beltran, have two young children. In his free time, Mr. Leschak enjoys being with his children and growing fruits and vegetables in his backyard garden. He also enjoys walking his Bichon Frise, Codey, as well as taking care of his three parakeets.
