Megha Bhouraskar, Esq.
Megha Bhouraskar has an international reputation and a client-base spanning continents. While
she grew up in New York City, attended Columbia University/Barnard College and spoke at the
U.N General Assembly at her graduation from the United Nations International School as the
Valedictorian of her class, her childhood summers were spent traveling through Europe to India,
and, while living with her grandparents in the heat of small towns such as Gwalior and Indore,
draped in crisp cotton sarees, she taught classes in Mathematics and English to the children of
domestic workers, designed her wardrobe for the upcoming school year with local tailors, and
visited friends and family in big cities, such as Mumbai and Delhi. This background has added
several dimensions to her perspective on both personal and professional fronts. Megha continues to
travel regularly to India and other parts of the World while she lives and practices in her law
firm, The Law Offices of Megha D. Bhouraskar, P.C., in New York City.
Megha’s foray into law, was initially, for a ‘ticket to earn’ while she wrote fiction and poetry.
Then, her passion for innovative viewpoints and strategizing for clients, writing and speaking
practice, paired with her empathetic coaching, negotiating and transactional skills, set her apart
as one of New York’s most trusted international names in law and business.
When Megha has managed to squeeze time from advocating successfully for her clients, she’s found
pleasure volunteering her skills for non-profit organizations. She has served as a Board & Charter
Member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneur) NY, TiE Women (Mentor for Project “AIRSWEE”-Mentoring
Women Entrepreneurs in India), and TiE Global. She’s the Founder & Former Board Member of Sakhi
for South Asian Women, a New York based nonprofit assisting women in domestic violence situations.
Megha also serves as a Board Member of the Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan U.S., an Indian cultural
organization, and as a Board Member of CREA, a nonprofit global organization focused on gender and
human rights. In 2017, Megha was invited as a U.S. Delegate to attend the Global Entrepreneurial
Summit (“GES”) in Hyderabad, India.
What Megha enjoys the most about these projects are the connections she builds and ideas and
experiences that are exchanged on a human level with people who are just as passionate as she is
about the issues and the real lives and stories being changed and recreated.
