About This Course
As attorneys, no one is better educated as to how to fight against legal malpractice suits. Nor is anyone better qualified to determine when a suit should be brought against another attorney. It is perhaps that knowledge that motivates attorneys to ensure that no suit can be brought against them while making them indisposed to bringing a suit against others unless very sure of the verity of the claim.
This CLE course will explain how to avoid claims against yourself, protect yourself from unreasonable risks and reasonably assess potential claims against others. The course will include a review of standards of care, attorney client privilege, proximate cause, economic damages, and legal malpractice defenses. The course will culminate with a review of relevant case law.
