About This Course
Like it or not, most lawyers are bound to encounter issues related to a mechanic’s lien at some point in their career. When a mechanic’s lien suddenly appears in a continuation title search at a closing, its important for the real estate practitioner to know what kind of options are available to get rid of the lien and avoid having to adjourn the closing. On the other hand, when a general practitioner who represents an electrician who is owed $100,000 from a general contractor is asked to prepare, file and serve a mechanic’s lien, he or she needs to know how to prepare a lien which will withstand attack.
This CLE course will teach the “nuts and bolts” of NYS lien law so that even a novice will be able to circumvent this complicated area of law like a pro. The course is presented by Matthew T. Worner who is a seasoned construction attorney with over 20 years of experience filing and fighting mechanic’s liens.
