About This Course
This course provides an overview of US law from the variety state jurisdictions concerning restrictive covenants, covenants not to compete, non-solicitation agreements and other non-compete terms and agreements in the employment context.
We look at the statutory, judicial and alternative frameworks the states use to address these issues and engage in a brief survey of the policy considerations, different approaches to the issues involved between various jurisdictions and recent developments in the law pertaining to non-compete arrangements.
The course is intended to provide practical advice to practitioners who are called on to review non-compete provisions in employment agreements or to draft or negotiate agreements around them. (If you frequently litigate these issues, you should consult the statutes and case law in the jurisdictions where you practice).
