About This Course
In this CLE presentation, a veteran personal injury defense lawyer shares his belief that jurors really try hard to do the right thing, and this means they base their decisions on the EVIDENCE.
The case is made for aggressively calling treating doctors, nurses, and other medical providers to testify about critical chart entries bearing on liability, proximate cause, and damages. The benefit of getting medical evidence in through the original author versus an expert is discussed, as well as how to manage the risk of calling a medical witness to whom you cannot freely talk before they take the stand.
The second half of the class offers tips on jury selection, opening statements, direct examination, cross examination, handling experts and striking a balance when attacking the credibility of a party.
