About This Course

This CLE course will review the basics of IRS Practice and Procedures. We will review the significance of the Notice of Deficiency and discuss a basic approach for meeting the requirements of the audit, appeal and Tax Court process. Various strategies for successfully and effectively representing your client in this process will be discussed.

Lecturer Bio

Dewey Golkin, Esq.

Dewey Golkin is a practicing attorney licensed in New York State, the United States Supreme Court, the District Court of New York, Southern and Eastern Districts and the United States Tax Court. He has served as a trustee of the Brooklyn Bar Association since 1992 and currently chairs the commercial law committee.

Mr. Golkin received his Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Masters of Science in Education from University of Pennsylvania. He has also received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School and his L.L.M. in taxation from Temple University School of Law. Mr. Golkin is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in New York State. Mr. Golkin has also served as an Administrative Law Judge and Hearing Officer for over 20 years.

Mr. Golkin has more than 30 years of litigation experience and deals with a variety of areas including but not limited to Commercial Litigation, IRS practice, Estate and Tax Counseling, Criminal Defense, Administrative Law and Education Law.
