Robert S. Barnett, Esq.
Robert S. Barnett, JD, Masters (Taxation), CPA, is a founding partner of Capell Barnett Matalon & Schoenfeld LLP, Attorneys at Law. His practice is highly concentrated in the areas of taxation, trusts, estates, corporate and partnership law and charitable planning. His experience includes Surrogate’s Court practice, tax dispute resolution, Tax Court representation, and structuring financial transactions and charitable gifts.
Mr. Barnett applies creative and practical solutions to estate and business planning. He has served on many committees, is a frequent lecturer, and has published articles on numerous aspects of tax and business law. He is an active participant and serves on many professional and charitable boards.
Mr. Barnett received his juris doctor in 1986 from Fordham University, where he graduated cum laude and was a member of the Fordham Law Review. He graduated magna cum laude from Hofstra University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in accounting and is presently an adjunct professor in their graduate tax program. Mr. Barnett holds a Master’s degree in taxation as the recipient of the highest dean’s award. Mr. Barnett is admitted to practice law in New York, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Henry Montag, CFP, CLTC
Henry Montag is an Independent Certified Financial Planner in practice since 1976 with offices in Long Island and New York. He is a principle of The TOLI Center East, which provides independent fee-based performance evaluation for private trustees, their advisers and institutional trustees regarding the protection of private or trust-owned life Insurance.
He has had articles published in various publications including those of the New York State Bar Association, NYSSCPA’s Tax Stringer, Tax Facts, National Conference of CPA Practitioners, and Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association. He has lectured extensively on the proper utilization of financial products to protect and preserve assets to the New York State Bar Association, the New York State Society of CPAs, The American Institute of CPAs and the National Conference of CPA Practitioners.
He has been a source for The Wall Street Journal, Investor’s Business daily, Investment News, Newsday, Long Island Business News and featured in Financial Planning Magazine.
He has also appeared on Fox News, News 12, Wall Street Week TV, and FIOS Money & Main Street. He has co-authored a book for the American Bar Association, (ABA), titled: “The Advisors’ & Trustees’ Guide to Managing Risk and Avoiding a Client Crisis” (Release Sept 2016).
