This CLE lecture explores a number of different practical problems that attorneys handling DWI cases in New York face on an everyday basis. At the outset, this presentation will help explain the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles regulations which can significantly impact those offenders charged with alcohol-or drug-related driving offenses. In addition, this presentation will explore different options when representing clients under the age of 21, commercial drivers, and out-of-state offenders charged with a DWI-related incident.

Finally, this lecture will address the Ignition Interlock Device as to who is required to install it in their vehicles and how to handle potential violations.
