Vincent Chang
Vincent Chang is a partner at Wollmuth Maher & Deutsch LLP in the Litigation and Dispute resolution
Group. Previously, he was an associate and then counsel at Davis Polk & Wardwell from 1989-2002. Mr.
Chang specializes in complex litigation in such areas as securities, insurance, bankruptcy, subprime
mortgage securitizations, hedge funds, real estate, reinsurance, auction rate securities, bondholder
litigation, investment banking, and antitrust. During his career, Mr. Chang has worked on litigations in
at least 20 states and has worked on a number of matters where the amount in controversy was nine
figures or more. Mr. Chang is a graduate of Harvard College, magna cum laude, and Harvard Law School,
cum laude. Mr. Chang has been listed as a “Super Lawyer” in business litigation in New York, a
designation limited to 5% of the lawyers in a given state. Mr. Chang is a Past President of the Asian
American Bar Association of New York (AABANY) and serves on the Executive Committee of the New
York County Lawyers Association (NYCLA) and on the Boards of Directors of Legal Services NYC, NYCLA,
the Network of Bar Leaders, the NYCLA Foundation, and the Asian American Law Fund of New York. Mr.
Chang also serves on the Nominating Committee and the House of Delegates of the New York State Bar
Association (NYSBA). Mr. Chang is one of NYCLA’s representatives to the Judiciary Committee of the
New York City Bar Association. Mr. Chang has served as Vice Chairman of two committees of the
Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association. Mr. Chang is a Co-Chair of the Litigation Committee
of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) and Vice Chair of the New York County
Lawyers Federal Courts Committee.
Veronica Rendon
Veronica E. Rendon co-chairs Arnold & Porter’s securities enforcement and litigation practice. Ms.
Rendón concentrates her practice on litigation, enforcement, and white collar criminal matters, with a
primary focus on securities, professional liability, and financial transactions. Ms. Rendón has a broad
base of experience. She has successfully defended federal and state securities class action litigations;
breach of fiduciary duty, suitability, and common law fraud claims; accountant and auditor liability
matters; partnership disputes; minority shareholder disputes; as well as receiver, liquidator, and trustee
actions, which often implicate the in pari delicto doctrine. Ms. Rendón has also efficiently and effectively
defended investigations and enforcement actions brought by the US Securities & Exchange Commission
(SEC), the US Department of Justice (DOJ), and State Attorneys General, as well as the Public Company
Accounting Oversight Board and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). As a
result of her engagements, Ms. Rendón regularly appears in federal district court, Delaware Court of
Chancery, state courts, and commercial divisions. Ms. Rendón also has successfully arbitrated and
mediated matters in a number of different forums, and worked through large, complex settlements to
finality. Drawing from her insight and experience in the litigation and enforcement arenas, Ms. Rendón
regularly lectures at professional conferences on issues facing the securities industry and financial
markets. Most recently, Ms. Rendón has spoken on topics including insider trading, in pari delicto, credit
crisis, and subprime securitization issues. Ms. Rendón is a strong proponent of assisting women in
furthering and strengthening their careers in business and the law. Among various initiatives, she has
helped cultivate Arnold & Porter's New York WomenConnect semi-annual programs, which provide a
forum for our women lawyers and senior-level clients to discuss challenges facing professional women,
with a strong focus on practical solutions and advancement. She is currently a Member, Board of
Directors of the New York County Lawyers’ Association, the American Bar Association, ABA Women
Rainmakers. She received a BA from State University of New York, Albany and a JD from University of
California, Hastings College of the Law.
Thomas Marino
Thomas V. Marino is a member of Dunnington Bartholow & Miller LLP’s litigation and arbitration
practice group. He specializes in multi-party business, securities and First Amendment litigation in both
state and federal courts throughout the US. Mr. Marino is credited with such landmark US Supreme
Court cases as Keeton v. Hustler and Falwell v. Flynt. Mr. Marino has substantial experience before the
Commercial Division of the American Arbitration Association and the National Association of Securities
Dealers (NASD). Mr. Marino has successfully dealt with securities fraud, RICO cases, and breach of
contract, trade secrets and foreclosure conversion litigation. He is a frequent lecturer for Continuing
Legal Education Programs in New York at the city, county, state and federal levels. His recent
publications include Admissibility of Scientific Evidence in Federal Courts After Daubert and Report on
the Proposed Arbitration Fairness Act of 2007 and HR 3010, both published in 2008. Mr. Marino is
admitted to the US Supreme Court, the New York State Bar Association, the US Courts of Appeals for the
First, Second and District of Columbia Circuits, and the US District Courts for the Southern and Eastern
Districts of New York. He is a member of the New York County Lawyers’ Association and a former Chair
of the NYCLA Committee on Federal Courts and Board of Directors. He is currently member of the New
York Athletic Club and serves on its law committee. Mr. Marino graduated summa cum laude from Long
Island University, received his Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law and was awarded
the prestigious Fulbright – Hays Fellowship. From 1971-1977 he served in the U.S. Army. He achieved
the rank of Captain and served as a Green Beret with US Army 5th Special Forces Group for most of that
period.
Susan Buckley
Susan Buckley is a member of Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP's litigation practice group. Susan has
extensive experience litigating communications law matters, especially those involving the rights of the
press. During the course of her career, she has successfully represented journalists and media entities in
cases concerning a wide variety of issues affecting the media, including the prior restraint doctrine,
press access issues, the reporter’s privilege and the protection of confidential sources and has defended
journalists and media clients in defamation and privacy cases, copyright matters and litigation
challenging governmental efforts to restrict newsgathering activities. Her clients have included the four
major broadcast networks, The New York Times, Time Inc., HBO, the Hearst Corporation, Business Week,
CNN, Court TV, NY1, local broadcasters, motion picture distributors, music distributors, cable program
suppliers and other publishers of newspapers and magazines. Susan is named among the top litigators in
New York by Chambers USA, The Legal 500 and Euromoney's Benchmark Litigation. Susan’s article
addressing the application of the Espionage Act to journalistic activities, “Reporting on the War on
Terror: The Espionage Act and Other Scary Statutes,” was recently published by the Media Law Resource
Center. Susan is a member of the Governing Board of the ABA’s Forum on Communications Law and
serves as a Master for the Federal Bar Council American Inn of Court. She has served on the
Communications and Media Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and
the Media Law Committee of the New York State Bar Association. Susan joined Cahill in 1977, following
her graduation from Fordham University School of Law, where she served as an Editor of the Fordham
Law Review. She became a partner in 1985. Susan received a BA from Mount Holyoke College.
Charles Cohen
Charles W. Cohen is a Partner and Co-chair, eDiscovery Practice Group at Hughes Hubbard. His areas of
concentration are Litigation, including products liability and general commercial litigation with
experience in state and federal courts, arbitrations and Congressional and Department of Justice
investigations; and Electronic discovery and information management in litigation and non-litigation
settings. He is ranked by Chambers USA as one of the top Products Liability lawyers in the United States,
as well as recognized by the Legal 500 USA as one of the top product liability and mass tort defense
lawyers (pharmaceuticals and medical devices). He is ranked by Euromoney's Guide as one of The
World's Leading Product Liability Lawyers, recognized and listed in The International Who's Who of
Product Liability Defence Lawyers and The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers, as well as
identified as a top-ranked lawyer in Super Lawyers magazine in the areas of Class Action/Mass Tort. He
is a Member and Past Chair (2010-2012), New Jersey Defense Association Products Liability Committee
and a Member, Defense Research Institute (DRI) E-Discovery Committee. Mr. Cohen received a BA from
Brooklyn College, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa and a JD from Georgetown University law Center,
cum laude.
