This course will cover the history of special education law in the United States, the evolution of the laws in the court system, vocabulary and acronyms, and the practical aspects of advocating for students with special needs in public schools, administrative proceedings and courts.

In addition, this course will consider how children with special needs impact the juvenile court system and how that system affects these children.

Finally, there will be a discussion of future possibilities for these students.
