Joan B. Davis, Esq.
Joan Bellefield Davis is the first American lawyer to earn an LLM in Fashion Law from Luiss University in Rome. She has delivered numerous presentations on fashion law both in the United States and internationally, including speaking engagements at Fashion Law Symposiums in China and Africa. With over a decade of experience, Joan represents clients in intellectual property transactions across entertainment, arts, music, fashion, and luxury goods law, serving a diverse global clientele through her expansive trademark docket.
In 2024 Joan was named “Go To” lawyer for business transactions in Fashion Law. In 2023, Joan published a chapter in the book Fashion Law and Sustainability, where she focused on "Green Laws" in the United States regulating fashion advertising for sustainability. Her background in the fashion modeling industry also led to an appearance on the Katie Couric Show, where she addressed the challenges faced by child models and their parents.
Joan is an active participant in the Fashion Law Institute's pop-up clinics in New York, and she is licensed to practice in both New York and Virginia.
