About This Course
Technology can transform how practitioners provide estate planning services, and even provide new services to offer. Some technologies are already commonly used but might be applied in new ways to make practice more efficient. Other technologies are just being adapted by professionals. The focus of this program will be practical discussions of how practitioners can adapt different technologies and use them in their practices. Betsy Ehrenberg of Legacy Concierge will explain how software can manage a client’s post-death digital footprint. Representatives from Interactive Legal will briefly overview how document generation software can facilitate creating a wider range of tailored trust documents for clients. We will demonstrate briefly the use of Gotomeeting as a web meeting tool and how a web meeting can be recorded and transcribed to provide a written base for creating a client memo using Temi.com for transcription. We’ll show how a time and billing systems can be used to inform clients of new changes in the law as well as address administrative considerations. Uses of firm websites and Linkedin will be illustrated. Mass mailings of client newsletters using MailChimp and outsourced services will be illustrated. Provisions practitioners might wish to add to their retainer agreements to address a range of tech issues such as cloud storage, text messaging, and more will be illustrated with sample language. This CLE program will feature several tech experts and lawyers all sharing their practical suggestions.
